Following the publication of the Competitiveness Compass, which announces flagship measures in the fields of innovation, decarbonisation and competitiveness, Cédric Janssens, Secretary General of Glass Fibre Europe, stressed the need for urgent action:
“The reports from Mario Draghi, Enrico Letta, and the Antwerp Declaration have already diagnosed the challenges. It is time to swiftly restore a level playing field with duties on subsidised and dumped imports entering the EU market and to cut the energy prices for industry”.
Glass Fibre Europe stands ready to engage with EU policymakers on additional initiatives announced in the Competitiveness Compass to restore industrial competitiveness. “Industrial competitiveness is more than economic vitality – it is the key to driving Europe’s twin transitions and securing its strategic autonomy. We now need to turn ambition into action”, concluded Cédric Janssens.
