AEGIS Europe members have adopted a joint position paper setting out proposals to strengthen the EU trade defence “toolbox”. The paper puts forward targeted changes to both current practice and the legal framework, with the objective of improving the effectiveness of trade defence instruments.
The contribution is grounded in the practical experience of the association’s members and identifies key bottlenecks that may hinder the timely adoption and enforcement of effective trade defence measures to protect EU industry from unfair trade practices, starting with human resources constraints within the European Commission’s DG TRADE.
